VEHICLE WINDOW TINTING
Many people are under the impression that tinting windows is a simple DIY process, until they attempt it themselves. At Covics Ltd we provide a professional Car Window Tinting service. | |
|
+ Installation
At Covics Ltd we have been tinting cars for over ten years, working on a whole variety of different vehicles, including cars, vans, lorries and motor-homes. |

|
+ Your car style
Essentially not all car makes are built the same, and therefore some cars are more difficult to tint than others. A professional tinter will know which cars take more time to tint properly and the best techniques to use, and therefore this will be reflected in the price and quality of the finished job. |
|
+ Types of Window Film
Just like comparing a Daewoo to a Porsche, there are a wide performance and cost differences in window film.
The cheapest tinting film can be many times less in price than the more expensive films, but you do get what you pay for.
The cheaper end film may look good at the beginning, but they can fail to block the heat, fade and bubble/peel soon after installation. Higher quality window films such as the kind that we use at Covics Ltd, offer a much higher performance and come with a full guarantee.
In order for a professional, high quality job to be carried out, tinting needs to be carried out in a clean, dust-free environment.
At Covics Ltd we have a designated tinting area in our workshop.

The Law
VOSA state the following rules apply for vehicle window tinting:
- 70% VLT (visible light transmission) for front side windows.
- 75% VLT for windscreens on vehicles first used after April 1985.
- 70% VLT for windscreens on vehicles first used before April 1985.
- All windows rear of the driver's door carry no restriction on the shade of tint.
How Much Does Window Tinting Cost?
The pricing for window tinting can vary dramatically depending on the make and model of your vehicle, the number of windows, and the amount of time that each job will take. At Covics Ltd we never cut corners, and we pride ourselves on carrying out a high quality job that our customers will be completely happy with.
Beware of the fly-by-night and mobile tinters quoting prices as low as £100 for a full vehicle - you really do get what you pay for.

Reasons To Tint Your Car Windows
1. DECREASE HEAT
Today's window film is extremely efficient at controlling the effects of solar energy. Films
can provide up to 78% heat reduction in your vehicle, compared to untreated glass.
2. REDUCE FADING
Window film blocks 99% of UV Rays, providing a sunscreen while reducing solar heat.
3. INCREASE SAFETY
Shattering glass is a hazard when accidents happen, or when vandalism occurs. The
protection offered by window films can provide a "functional safety net" that will make you
feel secure.
4. ENHANCE APPEARANCE
